Mission Statement

Established in 1967, Mystic River Homes, Inc. is a nonprofit organization led by a volunteer board of directors. The mission statement of Mystic River Homes, Inc. is to promote the social welfare of the community by providing, on a nonprofit basis, rental housing and related facilities and services appropriate for the special needs and living requirements of elderly or handicapped persons of low or moderate income without regard to their race, color, creed or national origin. The organization operates under the auspices of governmental agencies that regulate the budget, resident income guidelines and management policies. There are two housing complexes, the Mystic River Homes I-The Cottages and the Mystic River Homes II, the Congregate. The Cottages provide 46 garden style apartments in four one-story buildings and the congregate provides 50 apartments. The organization is committed to providing a much-needed resource to a needy segment of our community and operates under the auspices of the State of Connecticut Department of Housing.
